lowside on the magna at 1:15 am.

08 November 2013 - 04:49 AM

hey guys, jacob here.

Tonight at aprox. 1:15 am I lowsided the magna.

I was going aprox. 35 mph.

I came up to a 4 way intersection, I had no stop sign, the other guy had a stop sign.

So Im going along, its cold, im almost home, and riding legally (not speeding)

this asshole rolls through the stop sign and then STOPS dead center in the intersection.

Why? on drugs, an idiot, im not sure.

I grab the front, and a bit of my rear brake, and the bike instantly lowsides on me, but not before attempting to highside me (no wayy)

I slid maybe 18-20 feet or so, as did the bike.

I was just a few feet, if not a foot fromt his asshole, who, yes, is STILL stopped in the MIDDLE of the damn road. He then decides its a good time to move, and pulls over.

His story goes from, "i didnt see you"

to

" I was trying to get out of your way"

to "he sped up" once the cops arrive.

he had NO insurance on him, and the cop let him go with a minor citation, wtf?

what legally can I do, why did the cop not allow me to press charges?

He was DEFF. at fault, he failed to yield right of way...

now, i AM fine, just minor migration of my previously dislocated kneecap, from years ago.

My leathers came in today, and It was ride #2 with them, and just to be real, it was still a GREAT frickin ride.

what did I learn?

Well, for one, in temps below 30, the brake is a friend and a foe, I probobly grapped the front a bit too hard, BUT the alternative was the side of his car, or a street pole (the big wooden ones) so that was a good choice.

Next time I come on to a 4 way, regardless of right of way, I will slow down, just because car drivers are stupid.

When a bike highsides, lean the other way, Im kinda heavy and im almost certian this helped make it a lowside..

I grabbed the clutch and hit the kill switch before the bike stopped sliding, and had to push it home(the cager offered, but hell no hes not touching the baby he just MESSED UP!

heres where im at.

she wont start, turns overt slightly.

seems to not go to first, but can get outta neutral.

the leds i jsut installed are all fine, so the battery is still functioning.

can anyone offer me some advice as to wha tmy options are.

the cops basically told me to keep quite and then to go home... is that legal?

lets see what you play! What style do you like, how long? I'll get it started off

I play a few instruments, but for simplicity..

mostly bass, recently harmonica and banjo.

for me its all about the blues. Everything else is irrelevant.

bass for 12 years or so, harmonica for half a year maybe.

here's some blues for my new brothers and sisters of twisted.

enjoy, and lets see who else plays!

keep the rubber down
