Since i am the newbie...and the most needy as from what i have read so far....i need advice on this particular bike
1982 Honda CBS 900 c - $1500 (georgetown)...Hi. This is my 900 Honda that I have put many long nights into. I took this bike apart to the frame and restored it. I cleaned a painted everything. I rebuilt the engine and painted it with wrinkle paint . The custom paint was done by a good friend. It's Base coat clear coat and has a great shine. This bike runs great. I hate to sell it but it has been sitting in my garage going to waste so I would rather someone ride it that it sitting there. It runs great and has a new gel battery. It will need a new rear tire soon. Thin is the modle that has the 5 speed tyranny and high-low gearbox. Thanks for looking.....
any good or bad thoughts on it.......i would be very grateful for the advice.....thanks RIK

I like to make obscene posts too. I was almost banned from ventureriders for making lewd posts This forum is way cooler and more lenient towards obscenity (thank you Mr. Admins and Moderators!)
Anyway, my mom isu a retired nurse, and I live in Lexington too. If you see a bike you like and need somebody to look at it or need a ride to pick it up let me know, we can arrange something.
PHILH...well thank you man...that is a might gentleman gesture...i will take you on that hopefully soon........as i am looking to purchase a bike REALLY soon...thank you...how nice..thank you.......where did ur mom work? my wife is an RN.....and I a Radiology Technologist . Both of us been in the field 39 years......that makes me feel OLD !!!...but we both love it...giving back and taking care........

GENTLEMEN.....i can totally relate to what you have said and 98% agree with what you have said. When i see these people in cycle accident, they are 1/2 naked due to EMS cutting off gear to get to the body. I dont ask..."Well were u full geared and helmeted?" as its improper for me to do......i only see the end results of it. And, i would venture to say....90% of them were NOT properlly geared.
I am one of those that rides boots, jeans, tshirt, doo rag and gloves (have to protect the fingers for picking my nose) as i like that feeling. HOWEVER, ALL of you are right about riding protected with the proper gear. I have heard the same stories of proper gear and those in accidents comes out with minor injuries and not the type that i see. Majority of us in the medical field sorta has a "death wish" when something bad happens or a terminal diagnoses....JUST LET ME GO with dignity.....no tubes no machines no nothing..just give me a little "extra" morphine and let me go. Dont know if this allowed in this forum....but i would ride naked just for that freedom and feeling,,,,,hair blowing in the wind.........OUCH..watch out for the bugs tho
SO, I know ur correct, I know the stats are on your side with the proper gear and i know the facts are correct. I appreciate your advice and concern. LOLOLOL just that i have such a loving heart for others..if i was to crash and burn...someone would get that caring heart !!!!! ....just kidding...

Thanks for the comment about internal rust......would not have thought of that....good advice..
NOW the HELMET ITEM.......i realize its the safest thing to do....i work in medical field and taken care LOTS of motorcycle accident victims. I always thought motorcycle riders were stupid dump organ donor. Who in their right mind would ride on 2 tires at the speeds we ride....HOWEVER i got bit by the bug.
As I said, I work in healthcare and seen LOTS of motorcycle accident victims. There is one common situation that I have observed. Those that wear a helmet are majority of the time, neurologically ok, but their body from the neck down is totally messed up. I have decided, i do not want a great working mind with a terrible in pain, wrecked body when and if i have an accident. I will be a great organ donor. I am at an age, I know what my kids look like and are as an adult, I know what my fantastic grandkids looks like. I do not want all my financial investment to go into paying for care for a "in pain" wreck body. I would rather my investments be used by family to enjoy and live life better. Thus, i made a decision not to wear a helmet.
